WATERSPORTS IS NOW CLOSED UNTIL APRIL 2024.   We’re open all year round for land-based activities though 🙂 – go check them out.

What a wonderful summer we had – thank you to everyone who joined us in the 2023 season.  The kit is hibernating and we’ve left Grubbins Point to recover over the winter from all the fun and frolics from the summer.  We’re back open for watersports in April 2024. 🙂  A hit this year were the Monster Paddleboards, large enough for all the family and brilliant fun for groups and finales to company team away days! Perhaps add this to your 2024 bucket list?

Biased maybe, but we genuinely believe we run water sports from one of the best locations in the Lake District; Grubbins Point on Lake Windermere. From this sheltered bay situated on a private stretch of shoreline, we offer both instructed sessions and boat / board hire.

We also firmly believe that no visit to the Lake District is complete without some time on the water. Guests benefit from onsite free parking, toilets and changing facilities. 

What’s included in our water activities; board, kayak or canoe, paddle, buoyancy aid, tips to get you started, help getting on the water and safety boat cover.  Wetsuits are available to hire, or you can bring your own or go without.  Wetsuits aren’t necessary for kayaking or canoeing unless you plan on swimming. 

What to bring; swimwear for underneath a wetsuit, or comfortable and warm clothing depending upon the activity – if you’re unsure, please ask and we’ll happily advise; a towel, footwear you don’t mind getting wet or go barefoot, and a sense of fun! 🙂

The watersports centre is a ‘pop-up’, from April to September and at the end of the season, we pack up, leave no trace and allow Grubbins Point peace and quiet over the winter before all the fun starts again next year.  With no electricity or running water, we run purely on our inner energy and sunshine. PLEASE NOTE; we don’t take online bookings for same-day/next-day watersports lessons in case we’re inundated and unable to staff them, so for lesson bookings within 48 hours, please call or email your enquiry and hopefully, we’ll be able to fit you in :). For hires, please feel free to book away. 🙂
