Watersports

Water based activities

We may be biased but genuinely believe that we run watersports from the best location in the Lake District; Grubbins Point on Windermere. From this sheltered bay situated on a private stretch of shoreline we offer both instructed sessions and boat / board hire. We also firmly believe that no visit to the Lakes is complete without some time on the water. Guests benefit from free parking, toilet and changing facilities. What’s stopping you? Come and join us;

RIB (rigid inflatable boat) rides – Cruise Windermere on board our BRIG Navigator accommodating up to 9 passengers. From experiencing the quiet bays on the Western shore to viewing some of the lake’s most impressive properties from the water we tailor the time to suit you.

Paddleboarding – Stand up paddleboarding, or SUP, is the country’s fastest growing paddle sport and we are massive fans! Our instructors will tailor the session to suit you and will quickly have you standing up and travelling in a straight line. For faster learners we even progress to racing turns and headstands!

Canoeing – Journeying in these Canadian style boats is the ultimate in relaxation as you paddle around the small islands and bays off Graythwaite Estate’s private shoreline.

Kayaks – We offer both single and double sit on top kayaks which are paddled with a double-bladed paddle. Super steady and great fun, the kayaks are always a popular choice.

Wakesurfing – Along with knee boarding, wakeboarding and water skiing we can offer wake surfing from Graythwaite Estate instructed by one of our BWSW qualified team. Typically the sessions are booked by the hour and although you can bring 6 people on the boat, we recommend allowing half an hour per participant.

Experience. Explore. Escape.
